West Ham and Crystal Palace competing to sign non-league playmaker

West Ham United and Crystal Palace are among the clubs keen on signing Olly Box, HITC understands.

Sources have told HITC that West Ham United and Crystal Palace are among a number of clubs who battling to land non-league starlet Olly Box.
West Ham United and Crystal Palace eye Olly Box

The Hammers, who want to sign Samuel Iling-Junior, and the Eagles have scouted Box, who is one of the best young players in non-league football.

The 18-year-old has come through the youth ranks at National League South outfit Dartford and has burst into the first team in recent weeks.

Box was a star of the club’s academy and was generating interest, but now he has been given his chance and has taken it with both hands.

The attacking midfielder has scored three goals in his last two games, and he has done it in front of scouts from a host of clubs.

HITC can reveal that West Ham United, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough, Millwall and Leyton Orient are among those looking closely at Box.
Contrasting objectives

Both West Ham United and Crystal Palace are big clubs based in London and are established in the Premier League.

However, the two clubs are having very contrasting seasons at the moment.

While West Ham, who could lose Lucas Paqueta to Manchester City in the summer transfer window, are aiming to clinch a European place in the Premier League table and are still in the UEFA Europa League, Palace are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship.

The Hammers are ninth in the Premier League table with 36 points from 25 matches. David Moyes’s side have lost their last three league games.

Palace are 15th in the league table with 25 points from 25 matches. They are only five points above the bottom three and have lost three of their last five league games.

Tottenham, West Ham United learn asking price for Albert Gudmundsson

Tottenham and West Ham United have been told to pay at least €35 million for attacking target Albert Gudmundsson.

According to Napoli Calcio 24, Genoa will demand a fee of at least €35 million for star attacker Albert Gudmundsson. The Icelandic international has become a player of interest for many teams, including London duo Tottenham and West Ham United.
Genoa set Albert Gudmundsson price

Albert Gudmundsson has made his mark with some fantastic performances for Genoa, scoring 11 goals and 3 assists in all competitions this season. However, his form will unlikely help the team to an excellent finish to the season, but it has certainly made them a threat, especially against bigger sides.

Genoa might see their star attacker leave for a more significant challenge when the summer window opens, although they will sell only at their price. The Italian side have placed a €35 million tag on the 26-year-old attacking target, with a host of Premier League sides keen.

Tottenham has been one of the sides keen on the attacker since last November, as they might have enquired about him during negotiations for Radu Dragusin. For Genoa, losing two of their important players in the same window might have come as a blow, although they will open their doors in the summer should clubs pay the required fee close to €35 million.

West Ham are also keen, with the London side looking at a versatile attacker to shore up their attacking setup. The Hammers could consider making an exciting move for the 26-year-old attacking target with an offer that appeals to Genoa.
Gudmundsson will choose from a pool of clubs

Gudmundsson has a long career ahead of him and will look for a more significant challenge when the summer window opens. However, there will be factors like proper European football that may appeal to the 26-year-old attacking target, with both Tottenham and West Ham being well-placed to deliver that.

However, the two clubs could feel threatened should a Champions League-playing team arrive in the equation for Gudmundsson. There are some rumours about a few, although for now, Spurs are considered the front runners owing to their excellent relations with Genoa after the deal for Dragusin in the summer.
